Man stabbed to death in gambling feud

A man was stabbed to death in a gambling feud in Kurigram's Phulbari upazila on Wednesday.

The victim, Majidul Islam, 32, died during treatment in Rangpur Medical College Hospital. 

Fazlur Rahman, OC of Phulbari police, said Majid and some others were playing cards for moneyat Char Gorokmandal on Tuesday night. At the end of their game, Haran Mia, 42, tried to snatch Majid's money. When a scuffle broke out, Haran stabbed Majid and ran away with Tk 40,000.

The OC said police were trying to arrest Haran and a case is being filed in this regard.
