A man was stabbed to death by miscreants at a village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj last night.

The deceased was identified as Durul Hoda,40, son of Lal Chand Mondal of Namo Sundarpur village in the upazila, our Chapainawabganj reports quoting police today.

Quoting locals, Jobaer Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station, said Durul was going to Nayalavanga Bazar from his house last night.

When he reached Nayalavanga-Dhuldhuli para around 7:15pm, a group of 8-10 miscreants intercepted him and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.

Locals took him to the district Sadar hospital. As his condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He died on the way to RMCH.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, added the OC.
