Man kills brother ‘for torturing wife’

A 28-year-old man was killed after being hit on the head by his elder brother in Khulna's Khanjahan Ali area early yesterday.

The dead, Parvez Sheikh, of Khulna city, was physically torturing his wife around 12:30am at their house, said Kamal Hossain, OC of Khanjahan Ali police station.

Rubel Sheikh, elder brother of Parvez, hit the latter with a bamboo stick to save his sister-in-law from torture, leaving him dead on the spot, said the OC.

The body has been kept at the Fultola Health Complex, and no arrest has been made so far, he added.
