Man gets life until death for throwing acid on wife in Sirajganj

A Sirajganj court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment until death for throwing acid on his wife in Sirajganj.

District and Sessions Judge Fazle Khoda Md Nazir pronounced the verdict in the presence of convict Saiful Islam, 35, of Dakkhin Baniagati village of Belkuchi upazila, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdur Rahman.

According to the case statement, Saiful threw acid on his wife during a family dispute on November, 16, 2016, critically injuring her.

The victim's father Soleman Fakir filed a case accusing the husband with Belkuchi Police Station.

The court also fined Saiful Tk 1 lakh and asked the convict to pay the money to the victim, the PP said.

The convict was sent to jail from the courtroom.
