Man arrested for raping 7-yr-old girl

A man was arrested from Jamalpur on the charge of raping a seven-year-old girl in Naogaon.

The arrestee is Hasan Ali, 42, of Moharpara village in Porsha upazila, Naogaon.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Joypurhat Rab-5 arrested him in Madarganj, Jamalpur Monday night. Later, he was taken to Joypurhat.

Hasan was handed over to Porsha Police Station yesterday, and the girl's father filed a case against him.

"The first-grade schoolgirl of a local primary school went to a pond to bathe on August 12. Finding the girl alone, Hasan abducted her to a deserted place and raped her there. Afterwards, he went into hiding," said Rafiqul Islam, company commander of Rab-5.
