Man arrested at Dhaka airport for trying to smuggle yaba to Saudi
A man, who was trying to smuggle 8,950 pieces of yaba to Saudi Arabia, was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning.
The arrestee was identified as Md Saddam, a passenger of Salam Air.
Based on a tip-off, a team of Airport Armed Police Battalion detained him at the airport.
Saddam initially denied having any drugs on him but officials scanned his luggage and found the pills hidden in a specially designed compartment, Ziaul Haque, additional superintendent (Media) of APBn told a press briefing at the airport.
During primary interrogation, the arrestee claimed that he collected the pills from a man in Cumilla and was supposed to hand those over to a man in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Filing of a case is underway.
