Man arrested with 470 fake driving licenses in Benapole
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested a man who entered Bangladesh from India with 470 fake driving licenses at Benapole International Check Post this afternoon.
The arrestee is Abdus Sabur, 37, son of Mir Noor Islam of Chingrakhali village of Satkhira, said Subedar Delwar Hossain of Benapole Check-post ICP BGB Camp.
Sabur tried to bring the fake driving licenses in a bid to sell in the black market in Bangladesh, the BGB official said quoting the arrestee.
He had a passport with him and had gotten off a bus on the Indian side of the border and entered Bangladesh.
Surveillance was increased in front of the Benapole immigration check post in the afternoon after they received information about a passenger from India coming with illegal goods, said Delwar.
Later, a BGB team searched his luggage and recovered 470 fake driving licenses, he said. The arrestee was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station after a case was filed in this regard, added Delwar.
