Sabbir Mia owed a lot of people money. And to repay that debt, he abducted a child so that he could get ransom from her parents. However, after abduction, when he found out that the child knew him, he strangled her to death and left the body in a bamboo cluster.
Sabbir, 21, was arrested on Wednesday and admitted the above to the law enforcers, reports our Tangail correspondent.
He was produced before a court yesterday with a 10-day remand, said Tangail Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Shariful Islam, who led the operation of a joint team of police and detectives.
On September 6, Samia, a class III student of North Dariyapur Government Primary School of Tangail's Sakhipur upazila, went missing on her way home from private tuition.
