Journo's house attacked in Jamalpur; case filed

A case was filed against 18 persons on the charge of attacking, vandalising, and looting the house of a local journalist last night (October 31, 2022).

Mizanur Rahman, Sharishabari upazila correspondent of Bangla TV, a private television channel, filed the case at Sarishabari Police Station.

According to the case statement, the attack was carried out by local Awami League men for recording a video of a clash between two groups of AL men over supremacy at Jamuna Fertiliser Ltd. The clash took place at noon on October 30.

A group of men led by one Morshed Mia attacked the journalist's house. During the attack, they looted valuables and vandalised some of the furniture, the case statement said.

"I want justice," Mizanur said.

Mahabbat Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sarishabari Police Station said, "We are investigating the matter and action will be taken against the accused involved in the attack," the OC said.
