Journalist rescued hours after abduction in Ukhiya
A journalist was rescued hours after he was abducted by unknown miscreants in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar tonight.
The victim, Jasim Azad, is the Ukhiya correspondent of Dainik Bhorer Kagoj and also secretary of Ukhiya Online Press Club, reports our Cox's Bazar staff correspondent quoting Rab.
The criminals abducted him from the Ukhiya Upazila Parishad gate around 8:00pm.
Being informed, Rab-15 in Cox's Bazar started immediate operation and tracked his cellphone's position at Kasiarbeel area under Rajapalang union of Ukhiya, said Additional Superintendent of Police Hafizur Rahman, company commander of Rab-15 (Hwaikong).
Sensing Rab's presence, the criminals pushed Jasim in a paddy field and fled the area, the ASP said, after rescuing him around 10:00pm.
