Jhumon Das gets bail in DSA case
The High Court today (November 13, 2022) granted ad-interim bail for six months to Jhumon Das from Sunamganj's Salna in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA) on charge of inciting violence through sharing a Facebook post.
The court granted the bail to Jhumon on the condition that he cannot make any statement on social media, which can spread religious prejudice and incitement.
The HC bench of Justice Md Salim and Justice Md Riaz Uddin Khan passed the order following a petition filed by Jhumon seeking bail in the case.
There is no legal for Jhumon Das to get released from jail following the HC order, his lawyer Tapas Kanti Baul told The Daily Star.
Police arrested Jhumon on August 30 this year in the DSA case.
