Jamuna TV reporter gets anticipatory bail in DSA case

The High Court today granted anticipatory bail to Jamuna Television Senior Reporter Nurnabi Sarkar for six weeks in a case filed under the controversial Digital Security Act in Mymensingh.

The HC bench of Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Khizir Hayat granted the bail to Nurnabi after hearing a petition he filed seeking bail in the case.

Lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan argued on behalf of Nurnabi during the virtual hearing of the petition.

"Lutfunnesa Beauty, a former vice chairman at Trishal upazila of Mymensingh, filed the case at the Mymensingh Cyber Tribunal on June 15 last year after Jamuna TV broadcast a report on corruption allegation against a bureaucrat along with a blurred photo of her," Nurnabi told The Daily Star.
