'Hotel owner's' decomposed body recovered in Bandarban

Police recovered the decomposed body of a hotel owner from a creek near Baga Lake in Bandarban's Ruma upazila yesterday afternoon.
Police are yet to reveal the identity of the victim, but grieving family members and locals said it was Lalram Bawm Laram, 43.
Lalram was the owner of a small hotel in the area, reported our Bandarban correspondent.
His younger brother Lalkim Bawm said, "We heard a decomposed body was found in a creek by a trail to the Keokradong. Police took it to the Ruma Police Station. My sister-in-law later identified my brothers' body."
However, Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station, said the identity was yet to be confirmed.
Locals and family members said during prayers at Baga Lake Para Church on Sunday evening, several armed men entered the church and called Lalram, his father Sangliam Bawm, wife Lal Nujing Bawm, and two others to an unknown place.
All of them, except Lalram, were released later that night.
Local journalists said they were not allowed to enter the police station after the body was recovered.
