Police and witnesses said an altercation broke out between Samiul Alam, an assistant sub-inspector of Sakhipur Police Station, when Sadiqur wanted to enter the room with his mother and wife.
The on duty ASI barred him. At one stage, the headmaster slapped the ASI.
A team of police from Sakhipur Police Station detained the headmaster when the ASI informed the matter to the police facility.
Contacted, Saidul Haque Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of the station, told The Daily Star that the headmaster was shown arrested as the ASI filed a case against him on charge of assaulting him while discharging professional duties at the vaccination centre.
The accused headmaster alleged that the ASI grabbed him by his shirt collar in front of people and so he slapped him.
