A gunfight took place between members of Rab and suspected militants as well as separatist group members in Bandarban's Thanchi upazila, Rab officials said this morning.

Khandaker Al Moin, Rab's legal and media wing director, confirmed the development.

Rab officials said the incident took place when Rab members were conducting a drive a Remacri bridge area.

Earlier on January 23, Rab members arrested two leaders of new militant group "Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya" after a "gunfight" near Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar.
