Girl raped in Natore

Promising marriage, a youth raped a ninth grader in Natore's Gurudaspur upazila early yesterday, police said, quoting her family members.

Mehedi Hasan, 22, of Brichapila village had developed a relationship with the victim recently. Around 12:30 yesterday, he asked her to come out of her home over phone. Later, he raped her in a secluded bamboo garden, said OC Abdul Matin of Gurudaspur Police Station. Mehedi was absconding.
