Evaly customer files case: What Tahsan, Sabnam Faria have to say

Musician Tahsan Khan and actress Sabnam Faria have dismissed the allegations brought against them after a fraud case was filed by an aggrieved customer of e-commerce platform Evaly.
A disgruntled customer, Saad Sam Rahman, filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station on December 4, bringing fraud charges against celebrities Tahsan Khan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Sabnam Faria, and six others for embezzling Tk 3.18 lakh.
Tahsan was the Chief Goodwill Officer of Evaly, and Mithila was the face of the company's lifestyle products. Sabnam was the Head of PR, Media, and Communication at Evaly.
While talking to The Daily Star this evening over WhatsApp regarding the issue, Tahsan Khan said, "A year before I signed a deal with Evaly, I was requested repeatedly but I did not agree. Then, they (Evaly authorities) said 'we are with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Rab's movie 'Operation Sundarbans'. We received an ICT award, so why don't you agree? After many requests, I signed a deal with Evaly. But I did not act according to the agreement and terminated the contract in May. I was supposed to advertise according to the contract but I did not do so. So, I canceled the agreement with them as I was getting a lot of complaints for going on 'live' twice."
He also said that there are huge brand ambassadors from innumerable organisations around the world. "They are not held responsible for the activities of the organization as they just represent the company's brand. They will move away when the company has problems. It is by no means a crime to carry out publicity. What is meant by surveillance or arrest at any moment? Those who have cases (against them) are under surveillance? That is why such a headline is not desirable. I will file a defamation suit over it."
Sabnam Faria told the Daily Star in the evening, "These things (cases) are being done mainly to harass me. I hope the police will find no involvement of mine during the investigation. I have no connections whatsoever with the accusations brought against me in the case. Besides, I haven't received a single piece of money from Evaly yet. I have nothing to do with the allegations brought against me. I never promoted it (Evaly). I demand a lot of money for promotion. I told them (Evaly authorities) before taking the job that I will not make any promotion with salary.
Faria said she did not share a single post on Facebook about Evaly. "Troubles began from the very month I joined. I couldn't do any work with them. I don't think that I have to feel guilty."
Despite repeated attempts over phone, this correspondent could not reach actress Mithila for comments over the issue.
