DU teacher gets bail in DSA case

The High Court yesterday granted anticipatory bail to law professor Sheikh Hafizur Rahman Karzon of Dhaka University for eight weeks in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

The HC also asked Prof Karzon to surrender before the Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka in eight weeks.

Amit Bhowmik, general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Jubo Parishad, filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station on August 1 last year over what Karzon said was satire post on Facebook.
