DNCC to operate mobile courts in Ramadan

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will run mobile courts in all its zones during Ramadan to tackle food adulteration.

DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam announced the initiative at a workshop at Nagar Bhaban yesterday.

Bangladesh Safe Food Authority, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and DNCC jointly organised the workshop.

"Mobile courts of DNCC will conduct drives in all 10 zones to take legal action," said Atiqul.

"We not only have to ensure safe food at hotels and restaurants but also in the streets," he added.

The DNCC mayor said they have decided to provide 100 licences for food carts.
