Decomposing body of a woman recovered from Rampura

Police today recovered the decomposing body of a woman from Purba Rampura's Jaamtal area in Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Lamia Akhter (19) from Munshiganj, reports our staff correspondent quoting Md Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Rampur Police Station.

On information, police recovered the body hanging from a ceiling fan this afternoon after breaking into a flat of a six-storey building in Jaamtal area of Purba Rampur.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC said.

The police official said the victim used to live in the third floor of the six-storey building with her husband.

Police suspect the woman died by suicide.

Her husband tried to die by suicide and fled the scene after failing to do so, the OC said, adding that they were investigating the incident.
