Cox’s Bazar Krishak League leader shot dead
A leader of Bangladesh Krishak League was shot dead at his house in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar early today.
Victim Sarwar Kamal (38), a commercial artist, was the general secretary of Krishak League's Fasiakhali union unit, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports, quoting Anisul Haque Chowdhury, senior vice president of the organisation's district chapter.
On information, police recovered the body of Sarwar from his residence around 3:00am, Officer-in-charge of Chakaria Police Station Shaker Mohammad Zubaer said, adding that police are looking into the matter.
Member of ward no-9 of local Krishak League Mohammad Mohiuddin said, he went to Sarwar's house after getting phone call from him. He found bullet-hit Sarwar groaning on the premises of his house once he reached there, Mohiuddin said.
Sarwar's wife was not at home during the incident, Mohiuddin said.
