Covid-19 testing with forged documents: 3 TKS Healthcare Service officials remanded
A Dhaka court has placed three officials of TKS Healthcare Service on a five-day remand each in a case filed over forging documents that showed the health ministry's approval to collect samples and conduct Covid-19 antigen tests.
The accused are TKS Managing Director Abdullah Al Amin (31), Chairperson Abdul Hasan Tusher (38) and Marketing Manager Md Shaheen Mia (24).
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid passed the order after Md Ripon Uddin, a Sub-Inspector of Detective Branch of Police, and also the investigation officer of the case, produced the accused before court with a seven-day remand prayer.
The magistrate also rejected their bail petitions.
In the remand prayer, the IO said the accused set up a temporary office at Farmgate on July 11 and appealed to the health ministry to get approval for conducting antigen tests.
The remand prayer also mentions that TKS Healthcare Service had arrangements to conduct Covid-19 tests at 4,562 unions, with around 5,126 frontline fighters. But they forged approval document because they knew their application would be rejected. So, they need to be remanded to gather information about others responsible for committing such offences.
Detectives on Tuesday arrested them from Dhaka and Jhalakhati districts.
