College principal arrested for rape attempt

Dhamrai police arrested a college principal early today on charge of attempting to rape a student at his office on Thursday.

The arrestee, Khairul Bashar, is the principal of Dhamrai Govt Technical School and College.

A team of police arrested him around 1:00am from Rajapur area of the upazila after the mother of the victim, a seventh grader, lodged a complaint with Dhamrai Police Station, said sub-inspector Mahbubur Rahman Hamid.

On Thursday, the principal called the girl at his office and attempted to rape her there, the SI told our Savar correspondent quoting the family members.
