Chief justice constitutes 38 virtual High Court benches for tomorrow

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain today constituted 38 virtual benches of the High Court for hearing and disposing of cases only for tomorrow (Thursday) as the court will go on two-day weekly holiday on Friday followed by a two-week annual vacation.
The HC benches have been formed after the government recently announced to relax the strict lockdown from Thursday ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Among the 38 benches, 25 are division (two judges) benches and 13 are single (one judge) benches, according to a notification issued by the chief justice.
The benches will run their functions using information technology without anyone's physical presence.
The chief justice also recently constituted four HC benches for dealing with cases during the vacation.
The chief justice on June 30 decided to run the court functions across the country on a limited scale through virtual system from July 1 to curb Covid-19 transmission.
