Chaos in Brahmanbaria court: 13 videos removed from social media

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has removed from social media 13 videos on the incidents of some lawyers' misbehaviour with a judge in a Brahmanbaria courtroom.
Eight videos were removed from Facebook and five were removed from YouTube in compliance with the HC order.
BTRC's lawyer Ashraful Hadi informed the HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil of the development during hearing of contempt of court rule against three lawyers of Brahmanbaria district bar association.
The three lawyers are: Brahmanbaria Bar Association President Tanvir Ahmed Bhuiyan, its Secretary (Administration) Akkas Ali, and lawyer Zubayer Islam.
The three lawyers appeared before the HC bench this morning in line with its earlier summons order over misbehaving and scolding the judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 and creating chaos in the courtroom on January 2.
The bench fixed February 26 for further hearing on the matter.
On January 5, the HC bench directed the BTRC to immediately remove the videos of the incidents in the Brahmanbaria courtroom from social media.
Attorney General AM Amin Uddin represented the state while a section of Supreme Court lawyers including Supreme Court Bar Association President Md Momtaz Uddin Fakir and its Secretary Md Abdun Nur Dulal appeared for the three Brahmanbaria lawyers during today's hearing.
On January 2, a section of lawyers, led by Tanvir, Akkas and Zubayer, went to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 of Brahmanbaria regarding a case.
The lawyers allegedly requested the tribunal judge, Mohammad Faruque, who is a district and sessions judge, to hear the case, but the judge refused as his court hours had ended.
The lawyers then started shouting in the courtroom and scolded the judge and the court officials, prompting the judge to send a letter to the Supreme Court registrar general seeking a necessary decision to this effect.
On January 5 and 8, a group of lawyers brought out processions at court premises and chanted slogans against Brahmanbaria's District Judge Sharmin Nigar.
