Abetting death by suicide of college student: Bashundhara Group MD's name dropped from case
Police have dropped the name of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir from the case filed over abetting death by suicide of a college student at a Gulshan flat in the capital.
Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station and also investigation officer of the case, submitted the probe report of the case to Chief Metropolitan Magistrates Court of Dhaka on July 19, and Anvir's name was not in the report.
Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan set July 29 to decide whether the court will accept the report or not, said an official of General Recoding Office at the CMM court.
The victim's elder sister and complainant in the case, Nusrat Jahan, said, "I was not informed by the investigation officer about the final report before it was submitted to the court.
"I will file a no-confidence petition before the court against the final report in the case on the next scheduled date," she added
Police on April 26 recovered the body of the girl hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. Her legs were touching the bed and both knees were a little bent.
The victim's elder sister filed a case with Gulshan Police Station against Anvir for "abetting suicide" on April 27, a day after the girl was found dead at the flat.
