Case filed over death of Jubo Dal activist Shaon in Narayanganj
A case has been filed against unidentified persons in connection with the death of Jubo Dal activist Shaon Mahmud in a clash between police and BNP leaders and activists in Narayanganj Sadar upazila yesterday.
Narayanganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anisur Rahman Molla confirmed this information to The Daily Star today (September 2, 2022).
Shaon's elder brother Milon Pradhan filed a murder case around 2:00am today, our local correspondent reports quoting the OC.
One of Shaon's relatives, wishing not to be named, told The Daily Star, "The police asked him to sign a paper while taking Shaon's body. Milon signed the paper. We didn't know what paper it was. Later, I heard that a case had been filed. We don't know what is written in the FIR."
Jubo Dal activist Shaon, 20, was killed in "police firing" in Narayanganj yesterday during BNP's 44th founding anniversary programme.
