Case filed against contractor for assaulting PWD engineer in Pabna

A case has been filed against a contractor for assaulting an engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) in Pabna.

Md Abdus Sattar, sub-divisional engineer of Pabna PWD, lodged a written complaint with Pabna Police Station last night accusing contractor Nayan Hossain over the incident, said Md Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.

The complaint was registered as a regular case this afternoon after an investigation, the police official said.

"We have investigated the incident and found truth in the allegation," said the OC, adding that they are trying to nab the accused.

Contractor Nayan, a resident of Chok-Chatiyani village in the district, went into hiding after the incident, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting the OC.

Executive engineer of PWD Md Anwarul Azim told this correspondent that contractor Nayan came to the PWD office in Pabna aronud 11am yesterday.

"Suddenly Nayan started arguing with engineer Abdus Sattar regarding an incomplete work while we were talking about an official matter," said Anwarul Azim.

At one stage, Nayan assaulted Sattar. The other officials managed to rescue Sattar, he added.
