Bus set on fire in Gulistan

Arsonists set fire to a bus in Dhaka's Gulistan area this afternoon.

Two fire engines doused the blaze after unidentified persons torched the bus of Malancha Paribahan around 1:00pm, said Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

No casualties were reported, he said.

The BNP and its allies are enforcing a dawn-till-dusk hartal in protest of the announcement of the election schedule.

The 12th parliamentary election, which BNP and 16 other parties are not contesting, will be held on January 7.
