Bogura UP member found dead 5 days after she went missing
Police recovered the dead body of a female union parishad member yesterday five days after she went missing from Bogura's Dhunat upazila.
The deceased was identified as Reshma Khatun (38), wife of Faridul Islam of Gobindapur village under the upazila, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Kripa Sindubala, officer-in-charge of Dhunat Police Station.
She was the UP member of Wards 7, 8 and 9 (reserve seat for women) of the upazila'sMathurapara union.
Locals found the dead body in a paddy field of the village and informed police, the OC said. Police later recovered her body which was identified by family members.
Her husband Faridul Islam said, "She was missing since last Saturday afternoon while she was returning home from Sherpurupazila. I talked with her around 7:00pm that day. Since then her phone has been switched off."
Police said none of her family members including her husband filed any missing diary.
The body was sent to the hospital for autopsy, the OC said, adding that they were investigating the incident.
