The arrestee is Mahubar Rahman (45), son of Mansur Ali in Char Gobardhan village under Mahishkhocha union in Aditmari upazila, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Aditmari Police Station arrested Mahubar from Alupatti slum area of Rangpur after conducting a drive there this morning, said Moktarul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Aditmari Police Station.

Convict Mahubar was sent to jail by a court this afternoon, the police official said at a press briefing at the office of superintendent of Lalmonirhat police.

OC Moktarul further said Mansur and his son Mahubar killed their neighbour Basor Uddin following an altercation in May, 1999.

In 2003, a Lalmonirhat court sentenced Mansur and Mahubar to life term imprisonment in the murder case.

Mansur Ali had been sentenced to jail after the judgement but Mahubar went into hiding since the murder, added the OC.
