‘Abducted by Rohingyas’: 4th school student rescued

The last of the four school students, who were abducted allegedly by two Rohingya men from Ramu upazila on Tuesday, was rescued from Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila early today.
The rescued boy, Mizanul Islam, is son of Faridul Alam of Pechardwip area under Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar, reports our Cox's Bazar staff correspondent.
He was rescued from the hilly area adjacent to Leda Rohingya camp under Hinla union of Teknaf around 4am, said Lt Col Khairul Islam, commanding officer of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-15.
Earlier, members of Rab and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in separate drives rescued three of the four school students from Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila last evening. The rescued boys are Jahedul Islam Mamun, Mizanur Rahman Nayan and Mohammad Kayser.
All the rescued boys are students Sonarpara High School in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Besides, five people were detained for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping. They are Noor Salam (50), his 13-year-old daughter, Saddam Mia, Jahangir Alam and Mohammad Jabed.
According to Rab, of the five, Jahangir Alam was directly involved in the incident but another Ibrahim, who could not be detained yet, led the abduction.
On Tuesday, two Rohingya men -- Ibrahim and Jahangir Alam -- abducted the four boys, saying they will take them to St Martin's Island, according to the victims' guardians.
The four boys are from Himchhari area in Ramu upazila. Jahangir and Ibrahim used to work in a cottage there.
The kidnappers first took the four to Rohingya Camp-26, confined them in an unidentified place and then demanded a ransom of Tk 20 lakh from their families, the guardians said.
