8 Rohingyas arrested in Feni, sent to jail

Police today (June 10, 2022) arrested eight Rohingya refugees from a residential hotel at Mohipal area in Feni.

The arrestees were identified as Abdul Mannan (20), Abdus Sukkur (18), Md Jamal Uddin (22), Shafi Alam (25), Mohammad Elias (30), Nabi Hossain (14), Nur Hossain (18) and Enamul Haque (19), reports our Feni correspondent quoting Md Nizam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Feni Sadar Model Police Station.

They were residents of Kutupalong and Balukhali Rohingya camps, said police.

On information, a team of police conducted a raid at Gold Star Hotel in Mohipal area and made the arrests, said the OC.

A case was filed against them under Foreigners Act, 1946 with Feni Sadar Model Police Station, the OC said, adding they were sent to jail through a court.
