8 injured in Ctg polls violence

At least eight people were injured in a clash between the followers of two rival chairman candidates at Khagaria Union Parishad polls in Chattogram's Satkania upazila yesterday.

According to police and locals, supporters of Awami League candidate Akter Hossain and independent candidate Jasim Uddin swopped on one another with guns and sharp weapons in Jorar Kul area around 11:30am.

On information, police rushed to the spot but both the confronting groups managed to flee the scene, said locals.
