8 gold bars recovered from Patuakhali border

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh today recovered eight gold bars from Patuakhali border.

In a press release, BGB said the bars were recovered from a place called Sajaler Mor around 1:00am.

Based on information, they came to know that, a consignment of gold was being smuggled to India, said BGB Battalion Commander Lt Col Mohammad Tanveer Rahman.

A special patrol team of BGB raided the place and found a black bag, which had the gold bars, he said.

According to the press release, the bars weigh 938 grammes. Their market price is about Tk 75 lakh.
