7-year-old child raped in Bhasan Char Rohingya camp
A seven-year-old child was raped in Bhasan Char Rohingya refugee camp.
The victim's mother filed a case with the local police station accusing an unknown man on Sunday night, reports our Noakhali correspondent.
The incident took place when the child, a resident of Rohingya Camp Ashrayan project-3, along with some local children was playing around 12:30pm at number-14 cluster of the camp, according to source at Noakhali Superintendent of Police office.
Around two hours later, the girl was found unconscious and in critical condition there. She was rescued by her family and rushed to Bhasan Char 20-bed hospital and later she was admitted to Noakhali General Hospital.
Bhasan Char Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident.
Syed Mohiuddin Abdul Aziz, resident medical officer of the hospital, said the victim was admitted to the emergency department of the hospital on Sunday night. She was given treatment and now she is in stable condition, the physician said.
Police are trying to bring the man who raped the child to book, OC Rafiqul said.
