41 arrested during drives in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camps
Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested 41 Rohingyas, including six accused in murder cases, during a combing operation in Rohingya camp of Cox's Bazar.
Of the arrestees, 28 were later jailed for different terms by mobile courts for various offences, said Faruk Ahmed, assistant superintendent (media) of APBn-8 in Cox's Bazar.
The six murder case accused are: Syed Alam, Juanyed, Mochon Ali, Osman, Taher alias Lala Futia, and Shoayeb.
The drives against criminals in the Rohingya camps will continue, the APBn official said.
Police officials said they have been carrying out the drives as the incident of killings inside the camps increased recently.
At least seven Rohingyas have been killed this month alone and 14 in four months since June this year.
