4 ex-govt officers jailed in graft case

A Bogura court yesterday sentenced four former government officers to 15 years of jail each in a graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) eight years back.

The convicts are Khalilur Rahman, former accountant of Dupchanchia upazila parishad; and Abdul Bari, Abdus Salam, and Yunus Ali, former cash officers of Sonali Bank's Dupchanchia upazila branch.

The court of Bogura Special Judge Amlan Kusum Jishnu also fined them Tk 1.5 lakh each, in default of which they would have to spend nine more months in jail, said SM Abul Kalam Azad, ACC's special public prosecutor.
