4 Bangladeshis, 2 Indians held in Satkhira while crossing border illegally
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained four Bangladeshi nationals, including a human trafficker, and two Indian nationals in Satkhira while crossing the border illegally.
Among the detainees, the four Bangladeshis were on their way to India and the two Indian nationals were trying to enter Bangladesh. They were arrested by BGB at midnight, reports our correspondent quoting BGB.
The detainees are, Md Abdur Rashid (44), Rubel Sheikh (31), Md Nuru Khan (50), Md Belal Hossain (23), Lincoln Hossain (23), and Ashiq Gazi (22).
BGB Satkhira 33 Battalion Commander Lt Col Md Al Mahmud said, "Four Bangladeshis were detained on their way to India with the help of Abdur Rashid -- a human trafficker -- through the Padmashakhra border in Satkhira Sadar upazila. Two Indians were detained while crossing the Taluigacha border into Bangladesh in the same upazila. They've been delivered to the Satkhira Sadar police station."
