3 killed in Mymensingh road accident
At least three passengers of a battery-run auto-rickshaw were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Puradiartek area under Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh this afternoon.
The victims are--Kafil Uddin (45), his brother Amir Uddin (55), and their neighbour Nayeb Ali (75), residents of Gararon area of Sreepur upazila of Gazipur, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting Mohammad Raseduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Pagla Police Station in Gafargaon.
Quoting locals, the OC said the victims, along with some others in separate auto-rickshaws, were travelling to Moshakhali, adjacent to Gafargaon upazila from Sreepur to visit one of their relatives.
When they reached at Puradiartek area, one of their auto-rickshaws collided with a road roller, killing Nayeb Ali on the spot and injuring six others.
Kafil died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) while Amir died at the hospital, said the OC.
The injured persons, including the auto-rickshaw driver, have been admitted to different hospitals in Gazipur. Police seized the vehicles but driver of the road roller managed to flee from the scene.
A case was filed with Pagla Police Station in this regard.
