A Tangail court yesterday sent 25 leaders and activists of Ghatail upazila units of BNP and its different associate bodies to jail in a case filed under Explosive Substances Act last year.
Earlier, Ashulia police detained them on their way to the BNP rally in Dhaka on Wednesday morning and handed them over to Ghatail Police Station early yesterday.
Ghatail police produced them before the court of Ismat Ara, a senior judicial magistrate in Tangail, in the afternoon, which sent them to jail.
