Agriculture ministry implemented 99% of ADP allocation: Razzaque
The agriculture ministry implemented 99 per cent of the annual development programme last fiscal year, Agriculture Minister Muhammad Abdur Razzaque said today.
The ADP implementation rate is much higher than the national average progress, he said while addressing a meeting to review the ADP implementation progress at the ministry.
In the 2020-21 fiscal year, a total of 85 projects were taken under the ministry with the allocation of Tk 2,312 crore and 15 of those were completed. Tk 2,255 crore has been spent, which is about 99 per cent of the total allocation.
This is 17 per cent more than the national average of ADP implementation. The national average ADP progress was 82 per cent in the last fiscal year.
Addressing the programme, Razzaque urged the officials concerned to work for a cent per cent implementation of the projects taken under the ministry in the current financial year.
He said the projects should be implemented in a very transparent and quality manner.
The minister also warned of taking punitive actions against the project directors if they engage in opacity, unreasonable pricing or corruption in procurement.
In the current fiscal year, a total of 70 projects are being implemented with the allocation of Tk 2,958 crore, according to the ministry.
The highest Tk 680 crore has been allocated for the agricultural mechanization project while Tk 160 crore for Smallholder Agriculture Competitiveness project, Tk 157 crore for NTP-2 project and Tk 100 crore for Quality Potato Seed Production and Distribution project, it said.
