Youth stabbed to death

A youth was stabbed to death in Mymensingh's Phulbaria upazila Saturday night. The victim was identified as Mamun Hasan (21), a college student.

Police arrested one Shakil Mia (18)  in this connection. Quoting locals, Md Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Phulbaria Police Station, said both Mamun and Shakil were romantically involved with two sisters of the same locality, leading to a feud between them.

Mamun died immediately after Shakil stabbed him following an altercation in Hurbari area around 9.00pm on Saturday. Locals caught and handed Shakil over to police.

Shakil was produced before a Mymensingh court  yesterday, which recorded his statement and sent him to jail, the OC added.
