Youth crushed by train

A youth was crushed under the wheels of a train in Parulia Shimultala Railway Gate area in Lalmonirhat's Hatibandha on Monday night.

The victim, Rubel Mia, 21, was the son of Abul Kasem of Shimultala village.

Quoting witnesses, Ferdous Ali, OC of Lalmonirhat Railway Police Station, said Rubel was talking over mobile phone while crossing the rail tracks around 8:30pm. At that time a local train coming from Burimari to Lalmonirhat hit him. Rubel died on the spot, he added.
