Worker dies falling from under-construction building in Savar

A worker died as he fell from the fifth floor of an under-construction building in Savar of Dhaka this (October 28, 2022) morning.

The accident happened in Savar municipality area around 7:00 am, reports our Savar correspondent quoting police.

The deceased Anis Mia of Kishoreganj, lived in Savar's Bazar Road area. His brother-in-law Nabi Mia said Anis went to work in the morning. "We received information that he sustained injuries after falling from a building and was taken to Savar Super Clinic."

Anis was declared dead after being taken to the hospital, Nabi Mia said.

Harunur Rashid, a security guard at the building, told The Daily Star that Anis died after being taken to the hospital. The owner of the building is Arif, Farhad and about 20 other people.

Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Kumar Saha said police have been sent to the spot.

"Appropriate action will be taken in this regard," he said.
