Worker burnt in Narayanganj steel mill dies

One of the five workers, who was burnt after molten metal fell on him during an explosion at a steel mill in Narayanganj, died at a city hospital this afternoon.

Abdul Ali (26) breathed his last around 3:30pm while being treated at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery with 52 percent burns on his body, said Aiyub Hossain, resident surgeon of the institute.

Four others, Billal Hossain, Arif, Sohel, and Liton, are receiving treatment at the hospital.

An explosion in the furnace of Chakda Steel and Re-rolling Mills Ltd in Fatullah took place around 12:15am on Monday, leaving the workers injured.
