Two killed as train hits motorbike in Pabna

At least two people were killed and another injured when a train hit a motorbike at the Birampur rail crossing area in Santhia upazila of Pabna today.
The deceased are identified as Md Jamirul Islam, 32, and Md Babu Munshi, 25, of village Kabarikola in Santhia upazila of Pabna. They are cousin brothers.
The injured Momin Shikdar, 28, of the same village has been admitted to the Pabna general hospital at a critical condition.
Sub inspector of Ishwardi GRP police station Islam Alimullah, quoting locals, said they were going to Kashinathpur Bazar from their village riding a motorbike in the morning.
While crossing the Birahimpur rail line around 6.30am, the Dhalarchar Express from Ishwardi hit the motorbike leaving the two dead on the spot, the SI added.
Locals and GRP police later recovered the bodies from the spot and sent the injured to hospital.
The SI said there is no gate at the crossing for the safety of people.
A case was filed with the Ishwardi GRP police station.
