Two dead in Chapainawabganj road accident

Two persons were killed as a locally-made vehicle (Bhutbhuti) hit a motorcycle at Boro Dadpur area of Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj today.

The deceased were identified as, Mujibur Rahman (39) and Rubina Khatun (18), reports our correspondent quoting police.

Shakhawat Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) of Gomostapur Police Station, said that the accident happened around 11am today when a Gomostapur-bound Bhutbhuti collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The biker Mujibur died on the spot, while the pillion rider Rubina was critically injured.

Police and fire fighters rushed to the scene after receiving information, rescued Rubina, and admitted her to Gomostapur Upazila Health Complex, but she died half an hour later.

The bodies were recovered by police and taken to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
