Traffic police killed in Gaibandha road accident

A traffic constable was killed when a sand-laden truck hit his motorcycle in Gaibandha town this morning.

The deceased was identified as Biplab Pramanik, 50, of Sirajganj, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Masud Rana, officer-in-charge of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station.

The accident took place around 6:30am when the truck from Balasighat area hit Biplab's motorbike while he was on duty near Boro Masjid area, leaving him dead on the spot, said the OC.

A case will be filed after handing over the body to his family, said the OC, adding that police are trying to arrest the truck driver.
