Three killed in road accident

Three people were killed and three others were injured after a sand-laden truck collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh yesterday morning.

Two of the victims were identified as Hossain Ali (45) of Randia village and Abdul Matin (55) of Korura village of the upazila, said OC Kamal Hossain of Bhaluka Model Police Station.

Ali and Matin died on the spot and four others suffered critical injuries when the truck collided with the auto-rickshaw on the Bhaluka-Gafargaon road around 11:00am, said the OC.

All the deceased and injured were passengers of the auto-rickshaw. Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.
